Conservatorio Vincenzo Bugeja Foundation (CVB) was founded as an institution committed to the support and advancement of vulnerable young women. In continuing of this mission, the CVB Board of Trustees is developing The Anna Initiative, a structured mentorship and skills programme designed to equip young women with the knowledge and capabilities they need to navigate an increasingly complex world. The programme is due to be formally launched later this year.
Built around four core pillars, Emotional Literacy, Financial Literacy, Basic Practical Skills, and Fostering Creativity, the initiative is led by Ms. Rodianne Abela, alongside a dedicated team comprising Dr. Krista Ellul, Dr. Nikki Petroni, and Dr. Justine Swain.
On 19 March, ahead of the formal launch, the team held its first event at Ta’ Lazzru Farm, a family-run agricultural estate established in 1908. Participants took part in hands-on farming activities including harvesting, planting, and seasonal tasks, and shared a meal together on-site. The experience was designed to develop practical skills, encourage connection with the natural environment, and build peer relationships in a grounded, real-world setting.
The event marks an early and meaningful step in what CVB intends to be a sustained programme of activity. Further updates will be shared through CVB’s official channels as the initiative progresses toward launch.
